Teacher Resume Templates

A teacher resume template shows certification and the grades and subjects you teach before anything else, then turns classroom work into results: test-score gains, programmes built, cohorts supported. These use a warmer rounded type and a clear single column that district systems parse without trouble.

Best for: K-12 and secondary teachers, teaching assistants, special education staff and school leaders.

Who a teacher resume suits

These suit classroom teachers from early years to secondary, substitute and supply teachers, teaching assistants, special education staff, tutors, coaches and school leaders, including teachers moving between districts or countries or into education-adjacent roles.

How to lay out a teacher resume

Put your certification or teaching licence, subjects and grade levels in the first lines under your name. For each school, give the grades and subjects you taught and your class sizes, then bullets about results: attainment gains, programmes you started, interventions, parent engagement. Add a short section for professional development and extracurricular responsibilities. For leadership roles, also cover whole-school responsibilities such as running a department, a pastoral role or an improvement plan.

What to emphasise

  • Certification, endorsements and subject specialisms.
  • Evidence of student progress, with numbers where you have them.
  • Curriculum, technology and inclusion work, such as IEPs, differentiation and EdTech platforms.
  • Behaviour management and pastoral care, described through outcomes such as better attendance or fewer exclusions.

Common mistakes

  • Describing lessons rather than what students learned.
  • Leaving out extracurricular roles, which schools value highly.
  • Using jargon that a district HR screener will not recognise.
  • Leaving out grade levels or subjects, so a screener cannot match you to the vacancy.
